Indiana Unclaimed Property Auction

<< Back

According to state law (Indiana Code IC-32-34-1-29), holders of unclaimed safe deposit boxes have up to five years to locate a rightful owner. After that time, the contents must be turned over to the Unclaimed Property Division and advertised to the public. Any items remaining unclaimed are then appraised and prepared for the ongoing Indiana Unclaimed Property Auction.

Thousands of collectible items are available for public bid on eBay, including jewelry, coins and antiques. The proceeds from each item are held by the state for up to 25 years, during which time the rightful owner may claim them.
