RE: November 1 2011 Reporting Reminder Dear Unclaimed Property Holder: This is a reminder that your annual unclaimed property report and postmarked remittance to the State of Indiana is due no later than midnight November 1, 2011. Please also be reminded that statutory holding periods for certain properties was amended from five (5) years to three (3) years, effective 1 July 2010, (see I.C. 32-34-1-20); all annual reports due on November 1, 2011 should reflect this reduction. For property types affected, click here. Please do not forget to conduct required due diligence all properties. Additionally, please make note that Indiana conforms with standard NAUPA II property code types. Again, application of these important changes will be expected on all 2011 annual reports. Businesses that fail to comply with the Unclaimed Property Act will be charged interest and are subject to audit and additional penalties.
